In India we celebrate Teachers day on a special day on 5th September. Why we celebrate teachers day on 5 September its history, significance and many more. World Teacher day is celebrated after a month on October 5 and in India we celebrate Teachers day on September 5 . We marks the Teacher’s days on the anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan the first Vice President and the second president of India. He was awarded Bharat Ratna, highest civilian award in India, in 1954 and he was a Great Philosopher and Scholar in his days and honorary membership of the British Royal order of Merit.
Former president of India Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born on September 5, 1888, in Madras. Dr Radhakrishna served as a professor at institutions like the University of Calcutta and Oxford University. He was also a Prolific writer. And he promoted intercultural understanding through his lectures across the US and Europe he was professor.
He became President of India in 1962 and he visited by a few students with a request to celebrate his birthday on September 5. The Students dedicate the day to teachers. Thus, September 5 started being observed as Teacher’s Day in India.

Teacher’s Day Significance :-
In India We gives immense importance to the relationship between teacher and student according to our Indian culture we give very much importance to the relationship between Gurus and shishyas. In India on 5 September is not only a celebration of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birth anniversary, but it also Honours teacher’s day celebration on there Hardwork. On this moment students get the opportunity to express their gratitude and love, appreciation. Teacher get chance to self reflect and create an healthy environment for students and motivate them. And in Indian Culture all Indians Respect there Gurus (Teachers).

Teacher’s day In institute and college’s is Celebrated with love and joy where Students perform some activities such as Speeches, Songs, Drama, Cultural Performances, and many more. And in School, the Senior student Dress up as teachers and teach and hold junior student classes. In School Junior and Senior give Gifts, Flowers, Wishes Cards to there teacher. And touches there feet as an Indian Culture we Touch feet of our teachers and take there blessings .
